At your first visit, you will be provided comprehensive consultation, examination and treatment. During consultation you will be asked for detailed information about your health issues. Your medical history and health conditions will be discussed thoroughly.
Then, an examination will be performed, in particular reading the pulse and tongue.
From the consultation and examination, a diagnosis based on Traditional Chinese Medicine will be developed. And a specific treatment plan will come up to address your conditions.
Major treatment methods are acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Cupping will be included, if necessary. Based on your specific conditions, you will be provided either acupuncture or herbal medicine or both. The initial visit usually requires about one to two hours for a complete evaluation and treatment.
Follow-up visits will consist of a brief consultation and treatment. The treatment plan will be modified on the basis of the progression of your conditions. It usually takes about thirty to sixty minutes for follow-up visits.
Generally, for pain management, you will find relief after the first acupuncture session. In some cases, your pain will be completely gone after the first acupuncture session. In other cases, you may still have some level of pain, and you will need follow-up treatment sessions.
