Li Lin, PhD, LAc
Li Lin, PhD, LAc, was born and raised in mainland China. Dr. Lin attended Peking University as an undergraduate majoring in Applied Chemistry. During her senior year, Dr. Lin met Zhenglun Fan, a traditional Chinese medical doctor. Dr. Fan opened her eyes on the capabilities of traditional Chinese medicine and ignited a strong interest in her to further study this field.
After graduating from Peking University, Dr. Lin came to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to pursue her PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Kuo-Hsiung Lee in the School of Pharmacy. As her PhD dissertation, Dr. Lin conducted research on curcumin, the major component of turmeric, and its analogs to investigate the extent of their anti-prostate cancer activity.
After Dr. Lin received her PhD degree from UNC, she went to Florida College of Integrative Medicine to pursue her interest in Oriental Medicine. During her time in Florida, she also apprenticed with traditional Chinese medicine Master Hai-Sha Ni for three years at Ni's Acupuncture on Merritt Island. In 2009, Dr. Lin received her Master's degree in Oriental Medicine and her acupuncture license in the state of Florida.
Dr. Lin practiced at Ni's Acupuncture from 2009 to 2011 and treated patients having a wide variety of conditions (see Treated Conditions). Dr. Lin hopes to bridge oriental medicine and western medicine to benefit her community.
